Angirasu had her litter by c-section at 11:30 am this morning. There is one brindle girl and we have decided to call her Clover. Mother and pup are doing well so far and settled in snugly in the whelping room.
Clover will be available to the right home. If you are on our waiting list, the application will be sent to you. Please fill it out and send it back if you are interested in her. We will be accepting two candidates, a primary and a backup in case it turns out that the primary is not a good match as Clover’s temperament and personality develops. All applications must be received on or before March 16th. More details will be sent along with the application.
Update: Angirasu had a c-section on March 5th, so the game is over. We still got a lot of great guesses even though the game ended early. In total $30 of contributions were raised, $15 of which went to JACA Cares by request of the prize winner, Jasmine Lemos. Awesome! Continue reading

We took all five of our current breeding dogs to get their OFA eyes done yesterday. They all passed, although two have persistent pupillary membranes from iris to iris. There are no symptoms associated with PPM so their eye clearances will come back as “breeder option.”
Gamera had her hips X-rayed for OFA today and blood drawn for her OFA thyroid panel. This post will be updated once we know the results, but the vet felt that her hips looked good. Since Gamera is over 2 years old, the score will be official rather than preliminary.
All of our dogs’ health clearances, past and current, are now available on each dog’s individual page. For example, here is King Ghidora.
Gamera shares a birthday with an American Akita named Makoto. The “twins” get together every once in a while to celebrate the differences between the two breeds. This time, it was a special occasion: their 2nd birthday party at a doggie water park! Check out the pictures in the gallery. Continue reading
